The park was founded in 1900 by famed Methodist/ Holiness minister, Rev. Henry Clay Morrison, at the site of his boyhood home. Memorials are recorded and placed in a memorial book, at the H.C. Morrison Memorial Library Cabin, located on the park grounds.
